From the website: “Lau’s intense project on the violent clashes in Antarctica’s Southern Ocean between self-styled ‘eco-pirates’ and the Japanese whaling ships explores the whaling controversy and the ethical and historical questions raised by both sides. Lau plans to continue the project by covering the escalating confrontation between Sea Shepard - a radical spin-off of environmental group Greenpeace – and the Japanese ships who engage in whale hunting during the coming 2010/2011 hunting season.” (Adam Lau, finalist/San Francisco State)
