According to the Hartford Courant, seven Connecticut state legislators from Bristol and New Britain requested a meeting with Economic Development Commissioner Joan McDonald in an attempt to save their towns’ newspapers. The magazine 02138 folded today. According to mediabistro, in a statement released by 02138 owner Manhattan Media cited funding costs as too high. The final issue, already in production, will be an online-only item.
