Break from the regional talent search to remind photographers that listening to other photographers talk can be a good thing. Last week, Jim Dow gave a wonderful presentation at the Museum of Fine Arts School in Boston for the American Society of Picture Professionals. He reminded us all the importance of being grounded in a very unsure market. Dow is very family-focused which helps him weather good and bad times. So look around and find something or someone to keep you centered.

Sure, Dow is known as Baseball Stadium guy - but just by showing up we saw images from his North Dakota book and a few other projects-to-books he is working on currently. Lectures are fun.

John Harrington is speaking tonight - 1/26 - for the Commercial Industrial Photographers of New England group in Waltham, Mass. The focus is business: negotiations, biz practices and search-engine optimization.
