Yesterday, I worked while wearing slippers because Monday is casual dress day at my house. You may not be so lucky. You probably have to wear shoes. Maybe all week.

David Burnett feels your pain. He learned what not to wear after being barred from entering the Cabinet Room to cover President Bush in a meeting last week. He was wearing jeans. Burnett not Bush. Perhaps Burnett should have picked up a pair of Acne limited edition Gentleman’s Jeans before the chino-inspired jeans sold out. Just might have fooled the fashionista police.

The weird part of the story is that the government seems to be enforcing the snappy dress code with an official policy. Photographers cannot wear jeans in the Oval Office or the Cabinet Room. Or white sneakers. New rules. If you have an assignment on the Hill tomorrow, rethink your outfit.
